**raw post** I’ve been so busy with life and work that I didn’t realize how bottled up my emotions have been. It’s been a summer of loss for my family……my cousins stillborn baby, my uncle and my 21 year old cousin who was serving in the #airforce. I’ve stayed busy all summer and every time I go to church I let myself feel and it’s hard, but it’s healthy and freeing. If you aren’t a church person I encourage you to try it out. It’s not about religion. It’s about the freedom in #Christ. I had #worshipmusic on all the way to church and my heart about exploded. I’ve been so driven and my focus has been on staying busy and finding success so I don’t have to deal with all the death this summer. I’m posting this so that others can see that being vulnerable isn’t weakness. Being vulnerable makes you stronger as you walk through your challenges in life. Being vulnerable as a leader shows that you are real. The message at church tonight was spot on for me. I almost skipped church tonight too. I’m so glad I didn’t. All throughout the message I held back the tears. God knew what I needed to hear. He knew what would encourage me and build me up.
I encourage you today to take a moment and allow yourself to feel. Allow yourself to be vulnerable. I promise it’s worth it. Strength comes from walking through the storm and sometimes as your share your storm you help others.
