Hey There Fellow Mama.  It’s Great to Meet you!

So, here’s a little bit about me……

I am a social media specialist, marketing professional, speaker and founder of Yellow Barn Media and now the Host of The Mompreneur Club.

But that’s only a fraction of who I really am.

I am a wife, a mother, a horse enthusiast, an animal lover, an American patriot, Jesus lover, chicken collector and an eternal optimist with endless energy and a contagious smile.

I’m based in Fenton, Michigan, not far from the town where I was born and raised. If I could live anywhere else, it would be Kentucky, because it’s horse country and I have fond memories from visiting my granny and granddaddy’s farm as a child. The sweet smell of bluegrass and the tasty chicken tenders and waffle fries from Chick-Fil-A are hard to forget.  Staying close to family is a priority, so I’ll be in Michigan for many years to come.

IMG_2664I’m blessed to have the best husband an entrepreneur could ask for. He’s supportive of the business and the passion I have for nurturing it. Eddie is one-of-a-kind and I am blessed to share my life with him.

In 2014, we welcomed our first child, Edison into our family. He is the biggest blessing and God knew exactly what we needed.  I could not conceive, so my husband and I became foster parents knowing that we could at least help advocate for children.  Little did we know our first placement would end in adoption a year later!

Every day this cool kiddo teaches me to look at the world with fresh perspective no matter what the day may bring and he inspires me to strive to be a better person at home and in business.

Our family also includes nineteen animals (for now at least).  Yes, I know that sounds like a lot, but if you have ever heard of “chicken math” its really not that much.  We have two and four-legged friends alike.  We are owned by a Welsh Pony, a mini-donkey, a flock of free range chickens, two dogs and a handful of cats. All of our four legged animals were adopted from an animal rescue and joined our lives at just the right moment in time.  I think it is safe to say we have a heart for adoption (lol).

My Entrepreneurial Roots

My father was a small business owner, role model, and mentor. He always encouraged me to dream big and follow my heart. It came as no surprise that I would follow in his footsteps.

When I was 13, I started my first business. I bought and resold horse equipment at local weekend competitions. Selling horse supplies in between the classes I competed in earned me to enough money to continue buying more gear for my own horse.

My entrepreneurial adventures also included a dog obedience company, showing, raising and selling show quality rabbits and I dabbled in direct sales selling air and water purification units as well.

My mom was a shining example of Christ’s love for my sister and I.  I learned about customer service, loving people and showering grace on others from her.  She has always given of herself and loved others way beyond what she had the strength for, but her love for people is so massive she just can’t stop herself.

So, Why Jamie and The Mompreneur Club?

Passion.  Knowledge. Experience.  That’s why.

I understand how challenging it can be to set aside time for developing your business, especially when you are trying to raise babies.

Customer needs, employee schedules, payroll and administrative tasks take precedence. Website updates, blogs, email newsletters and social media posts quickly fall to the bottom of the to-do list.  I compare all of these tasks to laundry in a laundry basket fresh from the dryer.  It tends to sit there and you just pull out what you need in passing….socks, undies and such.  Finding time to fold and put away, well in my house that never happens.

If you are that rockstar mom that can’t relate thats ok.  Maybe, I need to have you guest blog to share your rockstar mama tips!

As a veteran marketing professional, I’ve been involved in all aspects of business building. I have made lots of mistakes in business, which I can say has helped me to master failing forward.  I have made leaps of faith and success over the last ten years, but I can say I have learned the most in the last two years.

Ever since my son graced us with his presence, my whole world has changed……can I get an Amen mamas?

I launched my full service marketing firm, Yellow Barn Media, over 9 years ago and never looked back.  I left a full time job to pursue my dream and its been awesome.  And by awesome, I mean it has taken crazy amounts of faith, money, time and more faith.

I won’t lie and tell you its been all roses, because it has not.  Anyone that tells you different is, well, embellishing. So that is really why I launched The Mompreneur Club.

 May I be frank?

I was, and still am, pretty much over seeing all this “pretty” stuff all over the internet about moms that work 3.5 hours a week and bring in 3.5 million in 3.5 months.  OK, so maybe I am exaggerating but I think you get what I am saying.

I wanted to provide a place where moms can be real, spilled coffee and toys everywhere kind of real.  Raising babies and business is incredibly hard.  I am confident I can provide you tools that will make you more efficient, connect you with likeminded mamas, encourage you as your walk out this entrepreneurial journey and well, become your friend in the process.

If you have been waiting for something like this, it’s here!
